The Royal Exchange's Costume Hire has an amazing variety of costumes, and accessories from a wide range of historical periods. The department is light and airy, and the layout makes it really easy for our customers to find just what they want. We can provide costumes for private individuals, amateur, business, education and charity groups, for plays, musicals, pantomimes, video and photo-shoots, TV & film productions, product launches, themed banquets, Murder Mystery events, anniversary celebrations, fancy dress parties or weddings. Whatever the occasion we can usually find the perfect outfit, all at highly competitive rates, with special rates for education and amateur dramatic societies. Our staff of volunteers have many years’ experience at Costume Hire between them, and are always ready to help and advise our customers. Opening Hours and Appointments We are open Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm and every other Saturday of the month 10am -2pm by appointment only. When making your appointment with the Costume Hire Department, please keep in mind that each fitting can take up to one hour, if not longer, as most costumes are individuals and sizes vary from item to item.
